Oil paintings of Prospect Park in Brooklyn. For almost 8 years I would walk in Prospect Park daily, starting the morning off with a long dog walk. I trained for 4 NYC marathons within the 585 acres, running thousands of miles. I ate countless meals: breakfast sandwiches with coffee or evening picnics with wine. I took countless photographs, drew pictures and read books. I learned about plant species and history and taught a graduate class in the park itself. I developed a relationship with the park that was an education of daily attention, learning about and embedding myself within my human and non-human communities. These paintings emerged from that practice.
