Message to My Ancestors — Chalk Art at Van Cortlandt Park, October 17

I’m one of the artists drawing in Message to My Ancestors, Tijay Mohammed’s chalk art project, on Saturday, October 17, 1–4pm, at the Kingsbridge Enslaved African Burial Ground in Van Cortlandt Park, the Bronx. It’s part of the Van Cortlandt Park Alliance’s REIMAGINING: Fall Get-Together, which opens with a live performance by Juan Usera and The Sambuco Tribe. The other chalk artists are Adrian Bermeo, Adrienne George, Dario Mohr, Musah Swallah and Yoshiko Mori. Supported by the Bronx Council on the Arts, AnkhLave Arts Alliance and NYSCA.
