Van Cortlandt Park Oak
2023, Oil on canvas, 6 × 6 in
Private collection, Tokyo
A small painting — six inches square — of one oak in Van Cortlandt Park as the day goes soft. I painted it as a tribute to the steadfast company trees keep with us, and it was made as a gift, which feels right for it.
