Description
I’ve always been drawn to the American Elms in Prospect Park — this remarkable specimen stands as a testament to resilience and natural beauty in an urban landscape. These trees have witnessed generations of Brooklyn history, and I wanted to capture both their grandeur and the peaceful atmosphere they create within the park.
What draws me to them is how they create spaces of contemplation amidst the city’s energy. Their distinctive silhouettes and spreading canopies offer shelter and shade, transforming ordinary moments into something worth stopping for. This painting is part of my ongoing exploration of the natural landmarks that make Brooklyn’s green spaces vital to our community.
